Four men, three days, one chance to win it all.

Technician Laurli Corbin has spent the past six months on an
asteroid-mining ship on the far side of the galaxy. The problem is she is stuck with four hot men and under strict orders not to mess with crew morale. That means if she gives in to her desires she can only choose one, and that’s an impossible choice.

The captain has set strict rules that he expects his crew to
follow, but when he and the other three men on board realize they have all fallen for the fiery beauty those rules come back to haunt
him...

When a cosmic storm hits, fate conspires to put the crew to the
ultimate test. The men are given one chance to change the rules and make a play that could give them all what they want most, but can they bet on losing the one thing that matters most?

Whoa. Blind Bet was one hot read. The descriptive sex scenes did much more than sizzle. They burned up the pages. The outer space setting was interesting and the mix of characters were too. For, Laurli, being stuck on a ship with four hot men (human and alien) wasn’t such a bad thing. Especially when her sexual fantasies where about to actually come true.

I enjoyed reading the futuristic adventure, but honestly there was a time or two were I was left scratching my head after reading some of the alien terms used. Not all of them were explained as to what they meant, or not explained until much further into the reading of the story, and that had me backtracking some.

I would imagine writing something and incorporating foreign terms, let alone alien ones can’t be easy for the author to do, but it can also be tricky for the reader, jarring us out of the
moment, which did happen.  However, that being said, it wasn’t enough to completely bother me. Overall, I liked the premises, even if some of what was being said was “alien” to me.

When dealing with demons, the devil’s in the details…

Stealing mystical and arcane artifacts is a dangerous business,
especially for a human, but Zoey Wharton is an exceptional thief. The trick to staying alive is having friends in all the wrong places. While having a witch and a werewolf on the payroll helps, being partners with a vampire really opens doors.

Zoey and Daniel were childhood sweethearts until a violent car
crash took his life and left her shattered. When Daniel returned from the grave as a vampire, his only interest in Zoey was in keeping her safely apart from the secrets of his dark world. He has vowed to protect her, but his heart seems as cold as the night he calls home.

Five years later, a mysterious new client named Lucas Halfer offers Zoey a fortune to steal the Light of Alhorra. The search for the Light leads Zoey into the arms of an earthbound faery prince. Devinshea Quinn sweeps her off her feet, showing her everything the supernatural world has to offer, but Daniel still calls to her heart.

As the true nature of the Light is revealed, Zoey discovers Halfer is a demon and much more than money is at stake. Per her contract, she must give him the Light or spend an eternity in Hell. What’s a girl to do except fight for her soul…and her heart.

Zoey and Daniel? Zoey and Dev?

Author Lexi Blake has created a supernatural world filled with surprises and a book that I couldn’t put down once I started reading it. There were plot twists and turns, a love triangle, and awesome characters. I must give the author her praise because the character development was phenomenal, the story line was inventive and engaging, and the world building terrific. With witches, vampires, werewolves, demons, and fae, Steal the Light has something for everyone.

I can sum it all up by saying this: I loved this urban fantasy/paranormal romance. If you haven't read anything from Lexi Blake before, start with this book. You won't be disappointed.

Christmas is supposed to be a joyous time of year, but for Harper Donaldson it’s just another day. Orphaned at an early age, she doesn't have a single good memory of Christmas.

But, when a Santa’s Mailbox mysteriously appears in the lobby
of the post office where she works as postmistress, Harper wonders what it could hurt to send her own letter to Santa.

Could he bring her the family she’d always wanted?

Harper’s Wish was a sweet holiday read that had some feel good moments. More than once I found myself smiling as I read it, and the mailbox to Santa reminded me of being young
and writing letters to Santa myself.

I don’t like spoilers, so no spoilers here, but I will say that this story was written in a straightforward style with alternating points of view between the hero and heroine. There weren’t any real dramatic moments or surprises along the way for the main characters in building their relationship, and with only a few details regarding physical characteristics given about the hero and heroine, I didn’t gain a clear “picture” of them, but regardless, Harper and Fin were likeable and did have a good chemistry together.

This was my first time reading this author, and I did enjoy reading her story. My recommendation: If you are wishing for something on the sweeter side of contemporary romance, along with a cowboy and a Christmas twist, then
Harper’s Wish is for you.
