For the Love of Murphy is a romance anthology with the running theme of bad luck, which may bring the couples in the stories a bit of good luck in the end.
The first story, No Wrong Turns by Lisa A. Adams is a tale of a woman named, Jessica who has decided to leave home in her attempt to not only leave bad memories behind, but to be on her own and be independent. Only she has a problem. Her trip away from home leaves her stranded on a rather deserted road when her car runs out of gas.
Poor Jessica finds herself in all kinds of situations that can only be described as
horrible luck, with the exception of the handsome man who has a southern drawl
and comes to her rescue.
Falling for You by Michelle Ziegler was a cute story that made me chuckle as I read about Darci
who was pretty much burnt-out with men, the whole dating scene, and her bad luck with the online dating world. One line in particular, about the online user with the screen name of BIG4U, had me laughing out loud. And you know you are suffering from major man depression when your best friend finds a Cheeto stowing away in your hair.
Will there be a light at the end of the awful luck tunnel for Darci when a hot man
from her past sends her a text?
Olivia is a woman with a stressful job, a flashy and perhaps brassy best friend, and a fresh-brewed addiction that has nothing to do with the steaming hot drinks in the coffee shop, but the sexy man who frequents it.
Coffee and Cufflinks by Annabelle Blume was another fun and entertaining read that I found
delightful.
A Slippery Slope by Rebecca Hart. What could possibly go wrong for a clumsy gal when she puts
skis on her feet? The answer is a whole lot of rotten luck, including a broken bone or two, but never fear, Anne Montgomery may have found the right man to not only cheer her up, but warm her up too.
The cast of characters were great. I totally enjoyed this wintery tale.
Who knew something as simple as a shamrock decoration could be so dangerous? In The Shamrock Incident by London Saint James, not only is the heroine having a bad day, complete with a lump on her forehead to show for it, the hero had his fair share of bad luck too. Though a
series of bad luck circumstances brought Marissa and Trey together, could their meeting actually have been fate?
Cleverly written and a great read to end this anthology on.
For the Love of Murphy is descriptive and fun with enduring characters and lots of charm. The talented authors of this anthology have written five stories on the sweeter side of
romance that will leave you with a smile on your face.
