Let me start by saying the blurb to this book just can’t encompass everything The Good Sister: Part One is about, and I follow that by saying, I was amazed by this beautifully narrated coming of age story. However, coming of age story doesn’t do the story justice either. There is so much to and about this evocative book told in Trinity’s POV. It will touch you, surprise you, make you want to fan yourself due to the heat factor, and keep you interested to the end. I enjoyed every minute of listening and felt the narrator was fantastic.
Trinity is a young woman who has suffered a horrible tragedy, has many phobias, and while she believes she is broken, she has more strength and courage than she realizes. The driving force for her necessity to change from a scared mouse into a sexy butterfly is the bad boy, Reid Addison, who she has fantasized over and secretly, or not so secretly, watched. I don’t want to give a whole lot of the story away because I believe the listener needs to experience Trinity’s tale for themselves, but I will say things may not be what they seem with Reid.
After a heated encounter with Trinity, Reid journeys to France. Trinity fears he may never come back to her and works toward leaving the estate, which isn’t as easy as it sounds for a person who is an agoraphobic. But finally, Trinity does the amazing. She ends up in France with Madam Jacqueline, who takes Trinity under her wing. It is there, with Jacqueline and her “sisters,” where Trinity finds Reid, but wait. What’s he doing there? What demons does he fight? Enters the debonair Lord Archer who has the ability to temp Trinity away from Reid and tempt her, he will.
