Genre: Romantic Comedy

Dating is hard…

Single mom Maggie Hayes puts up a tough front to hide her loneliness, spending her days in the courtroom as a lawyer and her evenings as a closet video gamer. Another heartache isn’t worth the risk, not after her husband left her last year for a Hooters waitress. When she decides to try dating again, a cute video game-designing nerd seems like a safe bet… Until he becomes the prime suspect in a murder.

But falling in love can be murder…

Jeremy Rogers makes a good living designing video games, but nothing prepares him for the real world adventure of being accused of poisoning his own employee. Add in falling for a sassy attorney with a competitive ex-husband, a clingy blonde coworker, and a mammoth-size dog that eats his furniture. Suddenly fighting off a screen full of zombies or preventing an alien invasion seems like child’s play.

Game over!

Maggie and Jeremy find themselves embroiled in a game of death threats, lies, and betrayal. Maggie must learn to trust again while playing the most dangerous game of all. Because defeat could mean not only losing her heart, but also her life…

Revisit the quaint Colorado town of Pleasant Valley and sit in with the Page Turners Book Club, a group of book-loving women who double as extremely amateur detectives. Join them as they set out to help their friend, while devouring good literature and some really great desserts.

~Excerpt~

Maggie knocked on Jeremy’s door, her heart in her throat. She knew it was late, and she prayed he would be glad to see her.

She had no phone to call ahead and warn him that she was coming. Her purse was at the bottom of the lake. Thank goodness she hadn’t taken her car keys out on their date.

She was in such a hurry to get to Jeremy, to do something spontaneous for once, that she just grabbed a jacket, threw it on over her nightgown, and jumped in the car. The jacket barely covered her short pajamas and left her legs bare. She had scribbled a quick note saying she went for a drive and would be back soon, and left it on her nightstand just in case anyone came looking for her.

She had no shoes, no driver’s license, no wallet. She’d watched her speed as she had driven over, more worried about a cop catching her in a short black satin nightgown with no bra than with no license.

The front door opened, and Jeremy stood there, in a pair of black boxers with a picture of Han Solo and a caption about his light saber on them. His hair was smooshed and stood up in little spikes on the side of his head. He squinted at her through his thick black glasses. He couldn’t have looked more nerdy. Or more adorable. And she knew that she loved him.

She gave him a little wave. “Hi.”

“Maggie? Is that really you?” He stood back from the door and let her in. The house was dark except for the light from the flames thrown off by the fire that glowed in the fireplace. A pillow and a throw blanket lay haphazardly on the sofa. “I fell asleep on the couch and was just having a dream about you. Am I still dreaming?”

“If you are, then I’m dreaming too. And I don’t want to wake up.”

He shook his head. “I can’t believe you’re here.”

“Is that okay? That I just showed up? I know it’s late.”

His face broke into a grin, as if he had just received his favorite gift at Christmas time. “Heck ya, it’s okay. It’s awesome.” He grabbed her and pulled her into a tight hug, lifting her off her feet and planting a kiss on her lips.

She wrapped her legs around his waist and felt his hands slide down her back and cup her bottom under the jacket.

Jeremy pulled back, a mischievous look on his face. “Are you wearing a thong?”

Maggie’s face broke into a naughty grin. “Maybe.”

“Is it my birthday?”

“It might as well be.” She nibbled at the spot she loved, right under his earlobe. “You’ll have to unwrap me to get your gift.”

He smiled at her, a grin so big it nearly split his face. “Challenge accepted.” He carried her into the living room, her legs still tight around his waist, and dumped her onto the sofa. He straddled her and grasped the belt that tied her light jacket shut. “Should I just rip the wrapper off my present to see what’s inside? Or should I take it slow and savor the process?”

Maggie looked up at him, the flames of the fire reflected in his brown eyes. She searched his face and all she saw was love and wonder and passion. She felt this was right. This moment was exactly where she was supposed to be, and she knew she loved this man. Her voice was husky and low. “We’ve got all night. I think you should savor it and take it slow. Really slow.”

Tied Up In Wonderland

London Saint James

Unabridged Audiobook

Length: 2 hrs and 32 mins

Narrated by: Jazmin Kensington

Genre: Erotic Romance, BDSM, Fairy Tale

Picture
Once upon a time there was a snoopy reporter, one Master Dom who wanted her for his own, and an underground bondage club that could mean the story of the year…

When Allison McCray decided to go undercover and pose as a submissive college girl named Alice Smith, she may have found herself in over her head. Especially when she becomes the new pet of someone they call Master Hatter.

Having Alice in his club may have been what Master Hatter always dreamed of, only he wished she were there as the woman he knew as Allison, not Alice. No matter. He’d play any game she wanted, and perhaps somewhere along the way he would show his “little Alice” what she’d been missing, one well-placed swat at a time.

But does Alice truly have what it takes to be a submissive, find the answers she seeks, learn the identity of the Master, and break the story that could make Allison McCray a household name? Or will she forever be tied up in Wonderland?

4.5 Stars – Recommended Listen

Tied Up in Wonderland
is a fun, quick, and very hot listen. I really liked the concept of this story and the way the author weaved kink into an adult version of a fairy tale. Allison, or "Alice" is a tenacious character who’s out to crack the story of her career as a reporter. When she finds out about a hard to find, invitation only BDSM club with rumors abounding about women being sexually exploited and drugged, she sets her sites into getting into the club called Wonderland, no matter what it takes.

There are some interesting predicaments along Alice’s path to Wonderland, a mystery, and a couple of sexy men weaved in, but only one is the allusive Master Hatter. You’ll have to listen to find out who the Master is.

Job well done to both the author and the narrator.

Excerpt – Adult
"Good morning Amari. Sorry I couldn't wait," Raya said. She pulled off her sneakers one by one, followed by her sports socks. Amari held out her hand, inviting her across. Raya's eyes lit up and she began to walk across the shallow water. Suddenly she stopped and looked down at her feet, confusion written across her face. Raya backed away, out of the water. "You okay?" "Err…yeah. Why don't you come across here?" Raya suggested. Amari did not hesitate, pulling up her dress to skip across the cool water, leaving her sandals behind. Once across, Raya grabbed her hand and pulled her into her. Both girls looked at each other. Raya’s deep green eyes shone back at Amari. "You're beautiful…" began Raya, but she was silenced by Amari who pulled Raya's head down in a rough kiss. Instantly there was a connection, sparks of energy flew around them and Amari's body began to heat up. Lips meshed and tongues played, dancing and teasing. Their hands explored and grabbed each other's bodies to get closer, wanting no space between them. Ray moaned into Amari's mouth. Amari pulled away. "Sorry, did I hurt you?" "Are you kidding me?" Raya said, pulling her back into a kissing that almost hurt with the fierce passion that was behind it. Amari's mouth sizzled against Raya's; never had she experienced something this strong straight away. She pulled at Raya's T-shirt, wanting nothing between them; skin on skin was her desire. Raya helped her out by holding her arms up and Amari pulled the T-shirt off. Underneath she wore a simple cotton bra that cradled her breasts. Amari slid off one strap and kissed the soft skin of her neck, then shoulder. She felt Raya's hand massage the back of her head, keeping her in that position. So she likes to be kissed there. With a new lover, it was always a learning experience; what they liked and didn’t like was stored in your memory. She was enjoying learning about Raya. She pulled down one cup to reveal a perfect breast with an erect pink nipple. Raya wasted no time: she sucked it straight away and then used her teeth to bite gently. This released another moan from Raya's lips. Amari smiled, looking up at Raya. "You like a little pain?" Amari carried on sucking Raya's breasts with gentle bites. She moved her hand down Raya’s front and edged it into her joggers and down to her panties, which to Amari's delight were a little moist. She rubbed Raya's mound, letting the tips of her fingers slide down further. Raya spread her legs a little; that meant Amari could reach further. Massaging that pussy was not enough, she wanted to taste. Amari grabbed Raya's joggers, pulled them all the way down and then knelt at her feet. Raya's legs were long and toned, probably with all that jogging. Amari stroked them up and down, dragging her nails closer and closer to her bare pussy that glistened, inviting her to taste.

Excerpt PG:
"You're stalling, so it must mean it's time for me to leave." Sofya spun on the spot, and Misty swiftly caught her arm. "Let's take a seat." Misty pointed to the sofa and Sofya nodded her agreement. "Raya's father was killed when she was young, and it's all messed up." Misty took a sip. "He had land and somehow the local Were community were involved." "My father had nothing to do with that…how could you think such a thing?" Sofya put the cup down and made to get up. Misty reached across and grabbed her arm. "I know, I know he didn't. It was all before his time. But if the land was taken without proper permission then Raya has a right to claim it." "Wait, are you talking about the land that Wylan wants? He keeps bugging my dad to sign it over to him." "You know about all this?" Misty sat up, alert to every detail. "Sure, I know there's something going on with some land issue, and I heard Wylan and dad talking about how the Vamps were warning us or something…wait." Sofya paused, looking into her cup. "What?" "Wylan was talking about the night I was attacked and how the Vamps were sending a warning. I didn't get it at the time." "Hold on, that makes sense. Raya and Amari have worked out that somehow the Shifters blamed the Witches who had some involvement in a curse on the Weres. It looks like the Vamps have been using both communities for their own reasons." "Oh boy, not the stupid legend of how a powerful witch cursed the Weres who are now bound to the moon? Come on people." She rolled her eyes. "Sheesh." "Each community holds on to their own beliefs and legends. For some it's what holds people together, since you know a common enemy. You and I are supposed to be enemies, but when you get rid of all that bad history we are two people who love each other." "What? You love me? Seriously, like proper love?" Sofya's eyes widened. Misty suddenly realized what she had said. There was no going back now. "Y...Yes I do. I've never felt like this with anyone." Misty looked down at her hands, too scared to look up and stare Sofya in the face. She was worried at what she'd see. Rejection was not something she wanted to feel ever again. "I love you too." The words she longed to hear came as a whisper. Misty looked up and saw tears shining in the eyes of the woman she loved. "Really?" Misty couldn't believe it. No-one had ever said that back to her.

by +Bethany-Kris Bragdon
Genre: Contemporary, Erotic Romance, Organized Crime, Suspense
Length: 98k, full length
Release Date: February 2nd, 2015
Blurb:
Lucian Marcello is aware of the expectations following him as the oldest son of one of North America’s most infamous Cosa Nostra Dons. Family in his world is more than blood and sharing a last name. It’s the honor, respect, business, and the life. Being a Capo is just a stepping stone until it’s time for him to take on the role of underboss but a chance meeting with her could be the one thing he’d risk it all for. She is exactly what he didn’t know he was looking for. Jordyn Reese spends her time trying to stay under the radar of a man who wouldn’t think twice about killing her. Unwillingly affiliated with a dangerous MC gang, her life is dominated by the men surrounding her and her future rests solely in how useful she can be for them. The last thing she needs is some Mafioso gaining her more unwanted attention from the club. He is everything she should stay away from but can’t. Notoriously violent when it comes to getting what he wants, Lucian will stop at nothing to make the target on Jordyn’s back disappear. But sometimes the worst threats are the ones you can’t see until it’s too late. The truth behind Lucian’s history is about to take center stage in more ways than one, and it’ll either save him … or kill him. This world leaves everyone a little filthy.

Out of the corners of his eyes, Lucian did see part of her bare shoulder and the black curls hiding her face, though. It wasn’t so much the amount of flesh she was showing as it was the peeks of what looked like a cherry blossom tattoo crawling over her shoulder and dipping down her back where it disappeared from his sight. “Hello, guys. I’m Jordyn. I’ll be serving you tonight, or something close to it. What’ll it be?” The sultry tone of her voice was something Lucian and his body noticed the moment she spoke. It was almost like a mixture of innocence and experience, if that were possible. She didn’t sound entirely bored, but she didn’t sound like she was in it to win it with her job, either. Dante looked to his father, his earlier comment about not consuming the drinks being silently said again. Antony must have took note. “A bottle of Jack, unopened. Four—” Antony stopped up short, his lips tugging down into a frown as he passed a glance towards Gio. The youngest brother certainly didn’t need to be drinking tonight. “Make that three glasses. We’ll pour.” Leaning forward was the worst mistake Lucian made since waking up that day. He certainly hadn’t expected to see her again. At least not in a place like this. She was on his mind all damned week, those eyes of hers, cream-like flesh, and a mouth that just at the sight alone, make his own water. What’d she call herself? Jordyn, was it? Merda. Shit was right—he was in so much of it. Suddenly, Lucian was not in the zone like he needed to be. He was so incredibly fucked. Also, Lucian realized he was right about his first assumption when he thought she had ink under her dress that day at the confessional box. Cherry blossoms started somewhere beneath the lace and leather bottoms she wore and trailed up over her side, before crossing over her left breast which was also covered by nothing but a lace and leather brassiere, and then curved over her shoulder. There was another tattoo, too, but in the darkness, Lucian couldn’t read the scripted words. Strangely, the immediate rush of possessiveness that flooded his veins surprised him. She was still so beautiful, like crazy. The more skin his gaze crawled over, the tighter his pants became. Lucian caught himself wondering what those blossoms would taste like under his tongue. Yeah, he was not where he needed to be. This unknown woman knocked him off kilter and she probably didn’t even know it. What was wrong with him? Unfortunately, his father seemed to realize his son’s abrupt change in posture and mood. “Lucian?” At the sound of his name, the girl’s--Jordyn, he reminded himself—eyes flashed to meet his in the corner, those dark lashes of hers blinking rapidly like she also didn’t believe what she was seeing. Lucian swallowed the thickness building in his throat. Thankfully, Jordyn didn’t act like they had ever met or seen one another before. She simply went on doing her own business. “Unopened bottle of Jack and three glasses. Anything else?” she asked, avoiding Lucian’s piercing gaze. “Yes,” Antony said, still watching Lucian closely. “The owner is Ron Daney, correct?” Jordyn stood a little stiffer, her shoulders squaring. “I beg your pardon?” “The owner is Ron Daney, Vice President of the Brooklyn chapter of The Sons of Hell,” Lucian said gruffly, trying to swallow back the huskiness forming. “We’re not ATF or the feds, let’s just be clear on that, sweetheart. Ron, he’s in tonight, yes?” Jordyn nodded warily. “Always is.” “Good,” Antony replied with a grin. “Send him a drink, whatever he likes. Do be sure to tell him it’s from a guest. Antony Marcello and his crew. Do not mistake my name when you tell him. Be sure to point me out so he sees me. Understood?” “Got it.” With that, the woman Lucian simply needed to glance at to turn his skin ablaze and his heart stuttering, was walking away. She didn’t look back.

She frowned. “What the hell’s happened?” She was quite sure this was not how the spell worked. Granted, she hadn’t exactly read the entire information sheet on the website. “No one does,” she whined, bouncing on the balls of her feet while staring at the flickering flame of the candle. The thing was more than 20 pages long. It was like reading one of those software agreements. No one read the damn thing. She’d read the instructions and the first page with all the warnings and that was more than enough. Taking a deep breath, she managed to settle her nerves a little. Everyone thought she was the ditsy blonde obsessed with the occult, but she wasn’t. She was a hard worker, impatient when things didn’t go as expected. It was partially the reason why she’d filed through so many relationships. Why stay with a guy when he clearly had nothing to offer? Some of her friends argued that she didn’t give them a chance. She begged to differ. She’d given them a chance, they just hadn’t taken it. True, her impatience sometimes got her into some trouble but it also saved her from a lot of it. That, however, wasn’t the case now. Annoyed that the spell had gone awry, she brushed back her bangs impatiently. Whatever had happened was not important. The priority was getting Hannah back home. Scanning the room for her discarded laptop, she did a double take. Obstructing the exit to the living room stood the most gorgeous man she had laid eyes on. He was massive. His head almost brushed the top of the doorframe. His heavily muscled arms were crossed in front of him, his chest bare except for the intricate design of a red-inked tattoo that started around his left nipple and descended across his side to his hip. Low on his hips, he wore a long black skirt made out of what looked like leather. Hailey hesitated a moment before finally glancing fully at his face. Her breath stilled as their eyes locked. A clear shade of violet, they were not from this world. Swallowing, she took a step backwards without breaking her stare. The stranger’s eyes glittered with curiosity and amusement. “Careful with the center of the star,” he warned. Hailey stumbled and froze. His voice was deep and commanding and had a familiar ring to it that sent her senses reeling. Shaking her head slightly, she continued moving away from him. “Watch—” Breath exploded from her lungs as she crashed into a shelf, a few ornaments she and Hannah kept, crashing to the floor. “—out. Are you all right?” Hailey winced, the back of the shelf digging into her skin, but she nodded anyway. The stranger flashed her a grin that made her knees weak. Hailey swallowed. The urge to see him smile again clawed at her insides like a desperate hunger. Ignoring her, he glanced down at the pentagram, his silky dark curls framing his strong jaw and straight nose. “You don’t look like you knew what you were getting into.” Hailey held on to the bookcase behind her. She was afraid that if she moved the whole thing would topple over her head and she’d wake up, realizing that the man in the center of the room was nothing more than a dream. “Read the first page of the instructions and didn’t bother to read the rest, huh?” His eyes lifted to hers with a sassy smirk that lit up his violet eyes. Hailey stared speechless, the urge to touch the man making her palms itch as if she’d stepped into poison ivy. “Yeah, you never did care what you got into, Ariadne.” Goose bumps sprouted over her flesh and she released the shelf, rubbing her arms in an attempt to warm her suddenly chilled skin. Ariadne. The name rang in her ears like a long forgotten memory always running at the edge of her vision, just a breadth away from her grasp. “I—” No words came out as he carefully watched her face, almost as if saving every detail of her features into his memory. Her mouth felt parched, her tongue too large, as she searched for words that wouldn’t come. “Yes?” Butterflies danced in the pit of her stomach and her chest tightened, making it difficult to breathe. Fear mingled with a strange sense of joy. Names, places, and moments in time danced in the edge of her vision, taunting her to remember them, taunting her to say them aloud but fleeing before she could take hold of them. “My name isn’t…” The man raised his dark eyebrows, the shadow of a smile lifting the edge of his full lips. “I know.” “Oh.”

Defined as weird since she was about eight, Elyzabeth honors the title by making up songs about her chores, doodling stars and flowers on any blank sheet of paper and talking to her dog whenever he feigns interest. Losing the battle to the voices in her head is her favorite pastime after annoying her younger sister with her singing. Writing stories full of passion and emotion where love conquers all is her happy pill and she'll forgo sleep to make her readers live the dream.
